I've been a terrible blogger. I can honestly say that this has been the busiest fall we have ever had. Holidays, sports, dance, lots of work, it all adds up. So a quick lowdown on what we have been up to.
Twirl had a birthday, he is 7!! I can't believe it. I was stressing a little bit about his party. He had about 5 kids he wanted to invite and that was it. I was so scared that everyone would have plans or only one or two would come and he would be dissappointed. I kept suggesting kids and got a firm "no". He knows exactly what he wants. Turns out almost everyone he wanted was able to make it. He had a painting party and it was a blast. He laughed so much, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Now we all know that gifts aren't the important part and I will happily say that he enjoyed just being with his friends the most.
working on their masterpieces
Firecracker completely stuck with it and had a blast. Tornado was entertained for about 6 minutes.
They all painted their masterpieces and then had some cake; a Project Runway cake to be exact. I am not really good in the kitchen, but I knew he would love it if I could pull it off. There were some crevices that were just icing (sorry parents whose kids got those pieces) but overall I was able to make something that resembled a runway. He was excited and that's what matters.
Icing a cake is hard, just FYI
Once he started opening presents they were all hyped up on cake and ice cream, lots of excitement and giggling. We had discussed the present part beforehand. We wanted to make sure whatever he got that he was thankful and showed some excitement. I know how he is when he picks a gift for his friend and the excitement that goes with giving them something. Turns out they all knew him well, fashion and girls stuff all around. He gave them each a little something and declared this the best birthday party ever.
Also recently was Halloween. I am happy to report that it was such a success! Third year Twirl has gone as a girl character. This year he picked a wig as well. This turned out to be a great idea because everyone just assumed he was a girl. It was the most stress free Halloween in years! All three kids were into it this year too. Firecracker was so incredibly adorable and Tornado pretty much ran from house to house.
This girl just has fun with everything, I want to be more like her.
She really enjoyed having some time just the two of us to do a little shoot
He was so excited to have that fan
All in all this has been a great fall! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
